The crypto market is predicting that Ousmane Dembélé, a striker for Paris Saint-Germain, will be bringing home 2025’s Ballon d’Or, the award given to the football player who had the most impressive season of the year.
At present, the odds that the PSG star will receive the prestigious award sit at 33.6%, according to information retrieved on May 7 by Finbold from crypto prediction market platform Polymarket. The betting volume regarding the matter stood at $821,245 at the time of writing.
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is currently in second place, with a 19% chance of securing the Golden Ball, while Barcelona forward Raphinha and winger Lamine Yamal, respectively, have a 14% and 12.7% chance of winning the award. The ceremony will be held on October 27.

How crypto market predictions regarding the Ballon d’Or 2025 have changed
Prediction markets have seen a significant shift regarding the topic — just one week ago, Raphinha was the clear favorite, with a 20% chance putting him ahead of Dembélé’s 13.2% odds, while Yamal and Salah, respectively, were given 11.7% and 7% odds.

However, Barcelona’s exit following a 4-3 loss in the Champions League semi-finals to Inter Milan has, understandably, done a number on Yamal and Raphinha’s odds. In contrast, Salah’s odds of winning the Ballon d’Or have seen a significant uptick after Liverpool’s Premier League title win on April 27, following a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
What about Ousmane Dembélé? The French striker’s goal against Arsenal on April 29 led PSG to a 1-0 victory, and despite sustaining a minor hamstring injury, he has been cleared as fit for the second leg against the Gunners, slated for May 7, which if they were to lose could shift the odds once more.
