ARPA brings its verifiable random number generator to CARV and Sonic SVM

ARPA Network, a threshold signature scheme (TSS) platform, is bringing its verifiable random number generator, Randcast, to CARV and Sonic SVM, as per the reports shared with Finbold on Friday, April 18.
The integration is part of ARPA’s ongoing strategic expansions and efforts to address fairness issues associated with randomness within blockchain.
Web3 randomness
Randomness is one of the foundations of decentralized ecosystems, as it often determines how fair, transparent, and secure the experience is.
However, traditional random number generator (RNG) systems can be manipulated or centralized, which defeats their purpose.
Randcast solutions, built on ARPA’s threshold BLS signature scheme (BLS-TSS), rely on a node network to generate randomness and keep it verifiable on-chain.
With a smart contract source development kit (SDK), blockchain developers can leverage these solutions for a number of user cases, including game mechanics and content generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
Toward a more robust CARV AI Ecosystem
CARV is working on a new AI-centered blockchain ecosystem by merging modular architecture with data sovereignty and intelligent decentralized apps (dApps).
The foundation of this approach is the Sonic Virtual Machine (SVM) chain, which blends Solana’s (SOL) speed and Ethereum’s (ETH) security.
By integrating Randcast, CARV gives its developers new tools to be used in randomized eSports tournaments, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), AI content creation, etc.
Meanwhile, Sonic SVM’s HyperGrid Framework and developer-friendly environments like Rush and Sorada will help the platform boost performance without sacrificing decentralization.
Consequently, the new Randcast integration means that games built on Sonic will feature tamper-proof randomness in mechanics like loot boxes.
